Total Sky Imager Measurements at Summit Station, Greenland

This data set contains measurements from a Yankee Environmental Systems Total Sky Imager deployed at Summit Station, Greenland as part of the Integrated Characterization of Energy, Clouds, Atmospheric state, and Precipitation at Summit (ICECAPS) Project. This total sky imager points vertically and collects routine images of the hemispheric view of the sky overhead that can be used to classify the sky state, calculate cloud fraction, and provide other sky information. The total sky imager was originally installed at Summit Station by Konrad Steffen’s team and was eventually transferred to the ICECAPS team for stewardship. The instrument is owned by the University of Colorado – Boulder. Field operations support is provided by the National Science Foundation's Arctic Observing Network (AON) Program.
