Long read amplicon sequecing of integrons from meat processing environments

The study aims to characterise class 1 integrons using amplicon-based high throughput sequencing with long-read technology. The method was applied to study the diversity and associated resistome of class 1 integrons in 196 samples from the meat industry. These samples included raw materials, end products, and food contact and non-food contact surfaces from facilities processing fermented, cured, dry-aged, or fresh meat products.
