As a pivotal city in central China, Wuhan has actively responded to national initiatives and vigorously promoted the popularization of new energy vehicles (NEVs). With the continuous improvement of urban infrastructure and sustained enhancement of policy support, the stock of NEVs in Wuhan has been rising year over year. Throughout 2023, the NEV stock in Wuhan reached approximately 300,000 units, accounting for about 7% of the total motor vehicle stock. The cumulative sales of new energy passenger vehicles hit 146,381 units, posting a year-on-year growth of 46.83% with a penetration rate of 35.01%. Amid the rapid growth of NEV ownership, issues such as parking shortages and charging difficulties have become increasingly prominent. These problems not only undermine the popularization of NEVs and user experience, but may also restrict the further development of the NEV industry. As such, addressing the parking-related challenges for NEVs carries significant importance: it not only has direct practical significance, but also is linked to multiple aspects including smooth urban traffic, the effectiveness of environmental protection, and the quality of residents' daily lives.
