Defining the Rio1 transcriptome in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae

The conserved Saccharomyces cerevisiae kinase/ATPase Rio1 downregulates rDNA transcription to promote rDNA stability and segregation. To uncover additional roles in transcriptional regulation beyond the rDNA locus we defined the global Rio1 transcriptiome. By NGS we identify 818 differentially expressed genes that are under the transcriptional control of Rio1.保守的酿酒酵母（Saccharomyces cerevisiae）激酶/ATP酶Rio1可通过下调核糖体DNA（rDNA）转录，以维持核糖体DNA（rDNA）的稳定性并促进其分离。为探明Rio1在核糖体DNA（rDNA）位点以外的转录调控中所发挥的额外功能，我们明确了Rio1调控的全局转录组（transcriptiome）。通过下一代测序（NGS）技术，我们鉴定出818个受Rio1转录调控的差异表达基因。
