资源简介:

The ability to construct academically credible texts from multiple sources has become an essential component of university-level English writing, particularly for philology students who are expected to interpret, compare, evaluate, and integrate literary, linguistic, and scholarly materials. However, source-based writing should not be reduced to the mechanical inclusion of quotations, summaries, or paraphrases. Effective academic synthesis requires learners to identify relevant information across sources, establish relationships among ideas, transform source material into an independently structured text, and develop an academically responsible authorial position. Previous research on integrated and source-based writing has demonstrated that source use, reading-writing interaction, source integration, and argumentation are closely connected to the quality of academic writing, while genuine synthesis remains challenging for many second-language writers. Against this background, the present methodological article develops a structured framework for enhancing English academic writing through multi-source synthesis among undergraduate philology students. The proposed framework integrates critical source comprehension, source evaluation, comparative mapping, controlled paraphrasing, cross-source synthesis, academic argumentation, citation, and recursive revision into a progressive sequence of synthesis-oriented tasks. The methodology consists of five interconnected stages: source awareness and critical reading; source mapping and comparison; controlled source transformation; guided multi-source synthesis; and independent research-based academic writing. An assessment framework is also proposed to evaluate source comprehension, source integration, synthesis and argumentation, organization and coherence, and academic language and citation practices. The framework is theoretically grounded in research on integrated writing and source use but is presented as a methodological proposal rather than as an experimentally validated intervention. Its principal contribution is the systematic integration of reading-to-write processes and source-based synthesis tasks into a coherent instructional sequence specifically adapted to the academic needs of philology undergraduates.
