This research aims to understand how the typology has changed with the introduction of virtual and remote work. The researcher interviews ten e-leaders from the Financial Services Industry to understand from them what competencies are required for successful virtual leadership. Through a thematic analysis as well as a review of existing literature, competencies were identified that will build the body of research and contribute towards developing a competency framework for e-leadership.
