Statuette of setaed woman

Apart from its somewhat smaller size, the female seated figure seems like a counterpart to the male statuette (O 80,2). With regard to its original context, the same applies as for the male counterpart:The figure is block-like and designed for frontal and side views. Transitions between these and a round sculptural capture of the figure in the strict sense have not yet been achieved. All in all, the sculpture is comparable to the double-seated picture from the so-called culture room, to whoms inventory it probably belonged. The expedition house had been built above the culture room, so it is quite likely that the figures unearthed during the construction of the well were placed here. The woman wears an ankle-length, long-sleeved garment. Two bracelets are visible on each wrist. The head rests on a strong neck. Strongly accentuated brow arches span above the eyes. The ears emerge from the mass of hair, which falls to the shoulders and is divided into two steps here. On her head she also wears the feather crown with diadem.
