The SWIRE-SDSS database was collaboratively developed by the Department of Astronomy of the University of Padua and the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, with the core objective of studying near-infrared galactic evolution. This dataset combines data from two large-scale surveys: SWIRE (infrared) and SDSS (optical), spanning an area of approximately 10 square degrees. It includes infrared data at 24, 70, and 160 micrometers, which are utilized to accurately determine the luminosity function of local infrared galaxies. Advanced automated processing techniques were adopted during the dataset construction to ensure data quality and integrity. This dataset is primarily applied to research on galactic formation and evolution, particularly within the redshift range of 0 < z < 1, serving as an important benchmark for understanding galactic evolution in the cosmos.
