With regional nature reserves, the Regions have a regulatory tool equivalent to those of the State to protect remarkable natural areas. Regional nature reserves have the advantage of introducing ‘à la carte’ regulations, adapted to the protection needs of each natural area. In addition to protecting the natural heritage, these reserves are also a means of territorial enhancement.
