Dangerous Harbor Project - Lancaster County - Reel 261 - Claims Against Lancaster, 1653-1850 - TIFFs 51-74

This dataset includes 24 TIFF files showing claims against the county from Lancaster County in Virginia. They were created by residents in a particular county seeking compensation for services complete, or damages sustained, in the name of the county. These documents were collected in association with the Dangerous Harbor Project which used courthouse documents to identify escaped unfree laborers in the 17th century Chesapeake and the punishments associated with their escape.
