Adult C. gigas specimens, 2.7 cm in length, were collected the 17th of May 2016 in the Lagoon of Goro, Italy. The gills of 14 oysters were dissected on ice and were stored in RNAlater. RNA extraction was performed according to the Trizol manufacturer instructions, RNA quantity was measured with a Qubit 2.0 fluorometer, while RNA quality was tested with an Agilent bioanalyzer using the RNA6000 pico kit to perform automated electrophoresis and fluorescence signal detection.
