JHS 180 Content Services for Place Data

This Recommendation defines the service interfaces to be used in online services providing spatial data content. The Recommendation is intended to cover all content services distributing spatial information in a different format, but, as a first step, it only deals in detail with the map image service (the so-called WMS service). With regard to geospatial data presented in target format and in lattice format, JHS will be completed later. The Recommendation is intended for all organisations that bring spatial data content to be accessible as online services. The general part of the recommendation concerns those services that are considered to be covered by the shared use of spatial data in Finland (particularly the organisations involved in the PATINE work). Chapter 5 of Annex 1 on Mapping Services is intended for use by organisations implementing INSPIRE compliant services. (18.8.2011)
