XMM observations of FK Comae-type giants

GT FK Com stars are single G or K type giants whose distinctive characteristicsinclude strong and variable H \\alpha and CaII emissions, strong UVchromospheric emission lines, quasisinusoidal optical light curves and highxray luminosity. Furthermore FK Comae giants exhibit large rotationalvelocities (unusual among single giants) which may govern their highchromospheric and coronal activity levels. The objective of this proposal is tomeasure the physical characteristics of the coronae of FK Com type stars (e.gtemperature, electron densities, abundances, variability) and to compare themwith those of other GK type giants. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
