Gene database of Oryza sativa

<i>Oryza sativa</i> is an important food crop that feeds half of the world’s population. Thus, much interest exists in understanding genes-phenotype correlation for developing higher yield and better varieties able to handle drought and salt intrusion in rice fields. This work sought to provide foundational information about the genetic repertoire of the rice genome by parsing its annotated genome sequence downloaded from GenBank. Comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence, the resource should be useful as initial information for understanding genetic repertoire of rice, and serve as guide for molecular cloning and genome editing workflows.

水稻（Oryza sativa）是养育全球半数人口的重要粮食作物。因此，解析水稻基因与表型的关联机制，培育高产且耐受农田干旱与盐渍胁迫的优良品种，一直是学界的重点研究方向。本研究通过解析从GenBank下载的注释版水稻基因组序列，旨在为水稻基因组的遗传组成提供基础研究资料。该数据集涵盖基因名称、基因功能与基因序列三大核心内容，既可作为解析水稻遗传组成的初始参考依据，也可为分子克隆及基因组编辑相关研究流程提供指导。
