Lanthanide Pyrochlores & Perovskites

During this beamtime, we seek to investigate the synthesis of lanthanide-based pyrochlores and perovskites under extreme temperature and pressure conditions. Such materials are of broad interest due to their potential to host exotic physical properties, and in potential applications as quantum materials. However, their preparation requires non-ambient conditions and extreme pressures. We aim to explore synthetic trends, as well as resultant physical property trends, across the lanthanide series.
