Current monthly cooling-grade hours for Germany, quality control not yet fully undergo

This document describes the monthly cooling degree hours calculated from publicly available station data from the DWD Climate Data Center (CDC). In accordance with ISO 15927-6, the monthly cooling-rate hours are considered to be accumulated hourly hours. Temperature differences between air temperature and reference temperature calculated. Monthly cooling-grade hours are calculated for reference temperatures 13, 16 and 18 degrees Celsius and stored in individual directories. It will only be count the hours that have an hour value of the air temperature greater than the reference temperature. The data in the “recent” directory are calculated monthly cooling days and cooling degree hours (cooling rate hours) from current data, which the quality control has not yet been fully completed. Monthly cooling-grade hours are calculated only for the stations for which all hourly values of the air temperature of one month are present. The data comes from DWD stations and partner network stations that are legally and qualitatively equivalent. It should be noted that the cooling degree hours can only be used for a first rough estimation of the cooling requirement/cleaning of the energy requirement, since cooling plays a major role in cooling in addition to the temperature used here, other influencing factors such as humidity, enthalpy or solar radiation (ISO 15927, sheet 6; VDI 3807, sheet 1): The cooling degree hours are not a reliable index for the energy requirement for cooling.
