Gut Microbiome in Osteoporosis Mouse Model Post-Ovariectomy and Irisin Treatment

This study aims to characterize the gut microbiome composition in a mouse model of osteoporosis induced by ovariectomy (OVX) and assess the impact of irisin treatment on this microbiome. By employing 16S rDNA sequencing on fecal samples from Sham, OVX, and OVX+r-irisin groups, we seek to identify microbial shifts associated with ovariectomy and potential restoration effects of irisin. Understanding these changes could provide insights into the role of gut microbiome in bone health and the therapeutic potential of irisin in osteoporosis management.
