Cryptosporidium spp. oocysts and Giardia duodenalis cysts in humans in Latvia, 2022-2023

The Excel database contains data about Cryptosporidium spp. and Giardia duodenalis from human faecal samples collected from regional hospitals and routine laboratories. The database contains information on date of collection date, city, gender, and age in years. Also, information on the concentration of Cryptosporidium spp. and Giardia duodenalis in a 1g sample, as well as the number of viable (oo)cysts of both parasites in 20 microl samples. Samples were collected from March 2022 to June 2023. Fecal samples were stained with immunofluorescence, and viability was determined by staining with DAPI.
