Attitude to studies of those interested in studies.
Topics: specific questions were particularly persued with the
respondents depending on type of employment:
1. Employees: employment in large concern; area of business; company
size; occupational activity; work experiences; working conditions
(scale); occupational satisfaction; work satisfaction and job
satisfaction (scales); aspects of occupational biography; occupational
perspectives; change of occupation or change of job; fear of
unemployment; possibilities for further education; arrangement of
possibilities for further education in the company; personal
participation in possibilities for further education; employer measure
to release one for studies concurrent with employment; information to
superiors about taking up studies concurrent with employment and
assumed attitude of superior to these studies.
2. Self-employed: area of business; number of colleagues; occupational
activity; work experiences; working conditions (scale); occupational
satisfaction; work satisfaction and satisfaction with job (scales);
aspects of occupational biography; occupational fears for livelihood;
planned changes of occupational position and change of occupation;
importance of personal measures for further education.
3. Housewives: size of household; full-time or part-time employment of
family members; occupied by raising children; care for and looking
after close persons; sole responsibility for provision of household;
help with housework; type and extent of activity outside of home;
feeling of being asked too much; satisfaction with personal situation
in life; earlier full-time employment; reasons for giving up
employment; interest in resumption of employment; desired extent of
employment.
The following questions were posed to all respondents: participation
of persons from the circle of friends and acquaintances in measures for
further education; influence of other persons on one´s own attitude to
studies concurrent with employment; personal learning habits; judgement
on selected basic conditions for promotion of one´s own motivation and
preferred learning method (scales); achievement orientation (scale);
field of specialization of interest in studies and desired direction of
studies; studies motivation (scale); interest in degree; desired form
of degree (university for applied science or university); preferred
duration of studies; financing costs of studies and possible sources of
financing; spatial closeness to college facilities; distance as
obstacle; presence in residence of a place to work undisturbed; maximum
weekly time to study; preferred study days and time budget for study;
assumed restrition of selected activities through taking up studies
(scale); use of vacation weeks for study; reasons for possibly
interrupting course of study and assessment of personal endurance;
reading habits; use of ´normal´ and scientific libraries.
Demography: sex; month of birth; year of birth; marital status; number
of children; ages of children (classified); religious denomination;
school education; vocational training; current and last occupational
position; employment; household income; size of household; type of last
school attended; year of highest school degree; year of last training
completed; current or earlier employment in the civil service;
unemployment and earlier employment; living together with a firm
partner; school education of partner; current or last occupational
position of partner; school education and current or last occupational
position of father or mother; number of employed persons in household.
Interviewer rating: presence of third persons during interview;
influence of the course of the interview by other persons; reliability
and willingness of respondent to cooperate; length of interview; date
of interview; age of interviewer and sex of interviewer.
