资源简介:
This dataset contains biogeochemical characterization of sediments and experiments designed to assess sorption of dissolved organic matter to permafrost-origin sediments. Sediments were collected from permafrost and thawed debris from the Peel Plateau (NT, Canada), central Mackenzie Valley (NT, Canada), and Klondike region (YT, Canada). Sediments were characterized with properties associated with organo-mineral interactions. Batch sorption experiments were conducted to determine sorption potential of sediments by exposing sediments to a series of organic-rich waters across a concentration gradient. Bioincubation experiments were conducted to assess the impact of mineral sorption on the biodegradation of dissolved organic matter. This dataset supports the manuscript “Experimental evidence that organo-mineral interactions regulate dissolved organic matter bioavailability across permafrost landscapes of northwestern Canada”, to be submitted in 2026.
