Genomic variations associated with drug resistance in HCV genotype 6 (Cambodge)

We investigated genomic variations of HCV GT6 that might be associated with DAA treatment failure (TF) using a next-generation sequencing approach. We sequenced HCV genomes from samples obtained from 16 selected HCV-infected patients presenting treatment failure and 29 successfully treated patients. HCV-infected patients were sampled before and after treatment. In total we assembled 65 novel complete sequences and investigated resistance associated mutations in consensus sequences as well as in low frequency variants.
