资源简介:

This dataset presents an inventory of landslides that occurred in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brazil, as a result of intense and prolonged rainfall between April 27 and May 13, 2024. The mapped features represent visible surface evidence of terrain displacement, including different types of landslides (slides, debris flows, mudflows, rockfalls, and soil creep), which have not yet been classified individually in this version of the inventory. These features were identified and delineated through visual interpretation of high-resolution satellite imagery using natural colour (RGB) composites. The following imagery sources were used: WorldView satellites (spatial resolution: 0.35 m), provided for emergency response by the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) / Directorate of Geospatial Services (DSG), with data from Maxar Technologies (2024); EROS C and BlackSky imagery (spatial resolution: 0.9 m), provided by the Chilean Air Force and Brazilian Air Force for emergency response; CBERS-4 satellite (WPM sensor, 2 m resolution, pansharpened), from the Sino-Brazilian cooperation via the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Brazil; PlanetScope mosaic (spatial resolution: 5 m), used for supplementary area verification. This inventory includes landslide delimitation (polygons) and initiation points. The mapping project was carried out by a volunteer team from multiple institutions, coordinated by the LATITUDE (Geological, Geomorphological and Landscape Dynamics Remote Sensing) group at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS).
