The overall research question of this project was "How do the location and neighborhood characteristics of residential areas affect travel behavior, greenhouse gas emissions from motorized travel, physical activity, and selected health parameters in the context of Norwegian urban regions?" The project was carried out through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The data were collected from a web-based questionnaire survey in the metropolitan areas of Oslo and Stavanger, supplemented with GIS-based measurements of distances.
