A new strain of osteocalcin-knockout mice was created (Bglap/Bglap2 dko/dko). We performed RNA-seq on tibial cortical bone messenger RNA from 4-month-old male mice in order to characterize the effect of the knockout allele on Bglap and Bglap2 transcription, and to determine whether Bglap/Bglap2 dko/dko mice had additional gene expression changes compared to wild-type mice.
