资源简介:
In this project we generated whole genome DNA sequences from 10 wild Atlantic salmon fish from the Tobique River, which represent the putative founder population of the most widely farmed aquaculture strain of Atlantic salmon in North America. The Tobique River is an upper tributary of the St John River and it comprised about 60% of the original spawning habitat of the St John River tributaries above the Mactaquac dam (New Brunswick province, Canada). The St John River (SJR) aquaculture strain is widely used for Atlantic salmon farming in North America. Wild fish from tributaries above the Mactaquac dam were used to found the SJR aquaculture strain and fish from the Tobique River are considered the putative founder population of the SJR strain. The 10 fish we sequenced for this project are a sub-sample of 98 hatchery-spawned adults that were captured as smolts from the Tobique River for a live gene-banking program and were genotyped with SNPs for genetic analysis.
