This dataset contains clinical images of skin cancer taken by Dermatologists at Newcastle Skin Check in New South Wales, Australia. Images were taken between April and December 2019. The dataset includes images of 217 lesions from 197 patients. More information on the study below Design. A reliability study with cohort-type enrolment of participants was conducted in Newcastle Skin Check, Charlestown, NSW, Australia, between April 2019 to December 2019. Setting. Patients with lesions suspicious for melanoma assessed by a primary care physician underwent clinical evaluation, dermoscopy imaging and subsequent excision biopsy of the suspected lesion/s. Participants. A total of 197 patients were included in the study. Baseline demographic characteristics including age, sex, and related clinical details such as history of melanoma were collected. Interventions. A total of 217 lesions removed and prepared by conventional histologic method and stained with hematoxylin-eosin were reviewed by up to nine independent pathologists for diagnosis using the MOLEM reporting schema. The nine pathologists for MOLEM schema were blinded to the original histopathologic diagnosis. The reference diagnosis for this study was considered to be the majority diagnosis from histopathology assessments.
