LINGUISTIC INTERPRETATION OF SPEECH COMMUNICATION: SPEECH SITUATION, COMMUNICATIVE PURPOSE, AND PARTICIPANT FACTOR
收藏资源简介:
Communication is an inseparable social need of human activity and serves as an important means of forming and developing interpersonal relations. Through the process of communication, people exchange ideas, influence one another, reach agreement on certain issues, consult with each other, conduct debates and discussions, and express their points of view. In this process, language and speech function as the main communicative mechanisms. In the course of speech activity, people use linguistic units to express their thoughts and attitudes. Although the concepts of language and speech are closely interconnected, this issue has always been the subject of scholarly debate in world linguistics. Representatives of structural linguistics, in particular, paid special attention to distinguishing these two concepts from each other. In this regard, Ferdinand de Saussure’s theory served as an important theoretical foundation. On the basis of his views, later researchers attempted to identify the specific features of language and speech. [1, pp. 13-18]
