The color attractiveness for insects at Stong Pond and Saywell Woods

On the windy and damp day of September 28, 2015 at 2:30-4:00pm, data was collected from pan traps at Stong Pond and Saywell Woods at York University. Nine pan traps with soapy water were placed three meters apart from each other at both Stong Pond and Saywell Woods. The bowls were alternating in the ordinal color of white, blue and yellow. After one hour, each bowl was observed for the type of insects it contained, the number of insect it contained, the different number of species it contained and recorded down. The purpose of this experiment was to see which species were attracted to what color bowl.
