The Corps Water Management System (CWMS) includes four interrelated models to assist with water management for the basin: - GeoHMS (Geospatial Hydrologic Modeling Extension) - ResSIM (Reservoir System Simulation) - RAS (River Analysis System) - FIA (Flood Impact Analysis) The Salt River’s drainage area is dominated by steep shallow valleys that are subject to flash flooding. The upper drainage area is mostly rural with several small towns. Downstream of Taylorsville reservoir the basin takes on a more urban character draining parts of the Louisville metro area.
