第一次农业土壤普查土壤肥力数据库的数据来源于农业部土壤普查办公室《中国农业土壤志》（内部资料）。自1958年开始，1964年结束。受到当时条件局限，土壤分类和命名主要依据易被农民群众了解的土壤名称，土壤性状多为文字描述，是了解农田土壤肥力演变过程的珍贵历史资料。
