Municipal plans - Civil Protection - Piedmont Region

The dataset represents all the Piedmontese municipalities with a municipal civil protection plan for the Piedmontese municipalities available from the Civil Protection Sector of the Piedmont Region.The municipal civil protection plan is a useful tool to support decisions in the emergency phase, the tool for planning the most appropriate risk mitigation, development and land management policies.The municipal civil protection plan aims to combine two elements:- the analysis of risks affecting the municipal territory, which makes it possible to prepare the forecasting and prevention programme; Article 15 of Law No 225 of 24 February 1992, which identified the Mayor as the municipal civil protection authority, provides for the possibility for each municipality to equip itself with a civil protection structure. The tasks entrusted to the municipalities have been further supplemented by Article 108 of Legislative Decree No 112 of 31 March 1998 and identified in the following functions:(a) implementation at municipal level of forecasting activities and risk prevention interventions; b) adoption of all the necessary measures to ensure first aid in the event of catastrophic events; c) preparation of municipal and/or inter-municipal plans and care for their implementation; (d) activation of the first aid to the population and of the urgent interventions necessary to face the emergency; (e) monitoring the implementation by local civil protection structures of emergency services.
