The aim of this project is to bring an understanding of the nanometer to micrometer structural organization in multi-layered cellulosic/UV-cured nanocomposites hierarchically structured in cholesteric to nematic organization or mimicking orthotropic organization of articular cartilage. Recently, thanks to combination of frontal ultrafiltration (FU) ultrasound (US) and UV-curing processes, original dense multi-layered structuring with nematic/cholesteric as well as orthotropic organizations , have been discovered and characterirzed by SAXS on ID02 (Reports of proposal SC-5510 and SC-5605). Scanning these films with microbeam resolution and get simultaneously the SAXS/WAXS data will first offer new insight in the understanding of the structuring induced by the combined effect of FU/US process and second will help to clarify the physical origin mechanisms of cholesteric formation of many liquid crystal biological or synthetic systems.
