Cholec80 is an endoscopic video dataset consisting of 80 cholecystectomy surgical videos performed by 13 surgeons. The videos were captured at 25 fps and then downsampled to 1 fps for processing. The entire dataset is annotated with phase labels and tool presence annotations. These surgical phases were defined by a senior surgeon at Strasbourg University Hospital, France. Since surgical tools can sometimes be barely visible in the images, making visual identification difficult, a tool is defined as present in an image if at least half of the tool is visible.
