Mesenchymal stromal cells belong to a diverse collection of cells in different states that are poorly characterized in soft-tissue sarcomas. We used microarrays to explore differentially expressed genes in pediatric rhabdomyosarcoma cells (RD) after exposure to non-malignant mesenchymal stromal cells (4 replicates/condition). Conditioned medium (cell culture supernatant from mouse muscle stromal cells in adherent culture) was applied on RD cells. Gene expression changes compared to control medium were analyzed 16 hours later.
