Data and code for the temporal analysis of visual misinformation during the 2026 Nepal floods
收藏资源简介:
This record contains the de-identified case-level dataset, classification documentation, case-ascertainment audit materials, analysis code, and reproducible figures supporting the temporal analysis of visual misinformation associated with the 2026 Nepal floods. The analytical sample comprises 16 independent visual-misinformation cases identified from Lead Stories and Nepal Factcheck within the defined observation window and data cutoff. The dataset links the documented physical-disaster onset, the earliest verifiable or recovered misleading post, and publication of the corresponding professional fact-check. To protect privacy and respect third-party copyright, the deposit excludes social-media account identifiers, direct post URLs, copyrighted source media, and child-related visual material. The classification codebook is a retrospective formalisation of the operational definitions used in the completed analysis and was not prospectively registered. Coding was conducted by one coder in one documented pass; no inter-coder reliability statistic is reported.
