Ramsar areas Tyrol

The Ramsar Convention is a framework programme for the protection and sustainable use of wetlands of international importance. Protected zone designations at national level should be promoted and supported through international cooperation. In 1971, the Ramsar Agreement was signed in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the Caspian Sea, among others by Germany. The WWF and the World Nature Conservation Union (IUCN) played a decisive role in shaping the Convention from the outset. The agreement entered into force in 1975. The first Member State Conference took place in Italy in 1980. Member States meet every three years. In the meantime, 133 countries have signed the agreement. Most of the wetlands protected by the Ramsar Agreement have been designated by Great Britain. Germany ranks 11st with 31 areas. The largest of the Ramsar areas is the delta area of the mighty river Okawango in Botswana with over 6.8 million hectares — an area of the size of Bavaria. The smallest Ramsar areas, on the other hand, have only one hectare in size — such as the Hosnie’s source on Christmas Island in Australia. 1229 Wetlands worldwide are currently under the protection of the Ramsar Agreement. Together they reach an area of about 106 million hectares, which corresponds to the size of Portugal. The RAMSAR areas are assigned to the INSPIRE Data Theme Protected Areas (Annex I).

《拉姆萨尔公约》（Ramsar Convention）是一项用于保护与可持续利用具有国际重要性湿地的框架性公约，应通过国际合作推动并支持国家级保护区的划定工作。1971年，《拉姆萨尔公约》（Ramsar Agreement）在位于里海沿岸的伊朗拉姆萨尔市签署，德国是缔约方之一。世界自然基金会（WWF）与世界自然保护联盟（IUCN）自始至终对该公约的制定发挥了决定性作用。该公约于1975年正式生效，首届缔约方大会于1980年在意大利召开，缔约方每三年举行一次会议。截至目前，已有133个国家签署该公约。受《拉姆萨尔公约》保护的湿地中，英国划定的数量最多；德国以31处湿地位列第11位。拉姆萨尔湿地中面积最大的是博茨瓦纳境内雄伟的奥卡万戈河（Okawango）三角洲，总面积超过680万公顷，面积与德国巴伐利亚州相当；而最小的拉姆萨尔湿地面积仅1公顷，例如澳大利亚圣诞岛的霍斯尼泉（Hosnie’s source）。目前全球共有1229处湿地受到《拉姆萨尔公约》的保护，这些湿地总面积约1.06亿公顷，相当于葡萄牙的国土面积。所有拉姆萨尔湿地均被归入《INSPIRE数据主题：保护区（附录I）》范畴。
