Reconstruction of phylogeographic relationships and evolution of tundra vole.

The aim of this study was reconstructing the phylogeny and evolutionary history of A. oeconomus using also ancient DNA samples. Specifically, we examined population dynamics, migration routes and extinction, and compared the results of genetic analyses with climate changes during the Late Pleistocene and Holocene. Besides, the commonly used molecular marker, i.e. cytochrome b, we also studied complete mitochondrial genomes.
