Re-sequencing Whole Genome of Jordanian Mehras (Olea europaea subsp. europaea) olives

Although whole olive genome sequencing is done, the need for detailed analyses of genomes of certain populations still exists. In the present project, for the first time, whole genome of Jordanian Mehras (Olea europaea subsp. europaea) uses the power of Hiseq sequencing technology is sequenced to provides insights into naturally occurring genetic variation, population structure, domestication, characterize the distribution of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), highlights the value of marker-trait associations and make them stronger candidates for deployment in molecular breeding and selection of genotypes that encompass the diversity of Mehras (Olea europaea subsp. europaea).
