Reintroduction of old carbon

This dataset contains organic geochemical measurements generated to investigate the reintroduction of pre-aged (“old”) carbon into marine sedimentary systems. The data derive from sediment cores collected in East Greenland (DA17-NG-ST14-171G and DA17-NG-ST08-92G) and include pyrolysis results, bulk geochemical parameters, and biomarker concentrations (n-alkanes, highly branched isoprenoids including IP25, and sterols). These measurements are used to characterise organic matter sources, composition, and preservation, as well as to assess marine versus terrestrial carbon inputs, sea-ice conditions, and carbon cycling processes.
