FFH areas

The shape includes the demarcations of the sites included by the European Commission in the List of Sites of Community Importance (SCI List). (Commission Decisions of 12 and 13 November 2007 published in the Official Journal of the European Union of 15 January 2008) In Schleswig-Holstein, all bird sanctuaries and sites of Community importance (SCI) are governed by national law (NSG, LSG or European bird protection areas), unless designated as NSG or LSG, pursuant to § 4 of the LNatSchG in conjunction with the first sentence of Section 33(1) of the BNatSchG in conjunction with Section 24(1) of the LNatSchG and the formally announced site-specific conservation objectives) special protected areas (SPA or SAC).
