Capsicum fruit stalk abscission region transcriptome

This study aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying fruit abscission in pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) by comparing transcriptomic profiles of two cultivars with distinct abscission characteristics. We performed RNA sequencing on both fruit abscission zone (FAZ) and stem abscission zone (SAZ) tissues from each cultivar to identify key differentially expressed genes and regulatory pathways associated with natural abscission processes. The findings will provide insights into the genetic basis of abscission regulation, which is critical for improving crop yield and postharvest management in horticultural species.
