To identify downstream transcription factors induced by retinoic acid, we stimulated SFZ cells with 10 μM retinoic acid for 24 hours and performed microarray analysis. Overall design: Superficial zone cells of articular cartilage (SFZ) were prepared from femur and tibial joint of postnatal 4days ICR mice. SFZ cells were cultured with or without 10 μM retinoic acid for 24 hours, and subsequent isolation of total RNA for Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430 2.0 array.
