This study investigates adaptational evolution of the Listeria monocytogenes bacteriophage P100 to withstand environmental conditions seen in food processing environments. The adapted P100 phages were grown on several Listeria monocytogenes host and their lytic behavior was compared to the host ancestral phage to determine whether improved survivability impacted fecundity.
