资源简介:
Occurrence of Isopenicillin-N-Synthase homologs in bioluminescent ctenophores and implications for coelenterazine biosynthesis: an investigation of the comparative gene content among groups of luminous and non-luminous ctenophores to identify candidate genes involved in the biosynthesis of the luciferin coelenterazine. Coelenterazine is the most widely used substrate for bioluminescence in the marine environment, however its origins are unknown as many species that use it appear to get the molecule from their diets. Most ctenophores are luminous for their entire life cycle, making them likely candidates for producing the molecule. The transcriptome of the non-bioluminescent ctenophore Hormiphora californensis was included as a "control" for the luminous species.
