A biofilms was developed, by a complex mixture of saliva microorganisms isolated from a patient with periodontitis. Planktonic cells derived by the overnight broth culture and cells derived from the biofilm developed after 24, 48, and 72h of incubation were subjected to next generation sequencing (NGS) of the 16S V3V4 regions to identify the main bacterial phyla.
