As simple as a tambourine (Survey data raw)

We surveyed 42 UK-based music practitioners working with people living with dementia, aiming to understand how they adapt activities to individual needs, their current use of instruments and technologies, and their preferences and views about future music technologies. We are sharing their responses to the survey here in a raw form. Ethical approval was granted by the University of Sheffield (Ref. 057109).Thematic analysis of their responses yielded three main themes: We know you, we see you; As simple as a tambourine, and Technology implies complexity. Findings are intended to guide the design for new music technologies and contribute to the formalising of in-the-moment, embodied musical agency as a core component of person-centred care.
