TEAMx - sEOP - ACTA - Schwartzseespitze - Klobenstein - Micro rain radar (MRR) profiling precipitation data

About the data: The repository contains Micro Rain Radar (MRR) data collected at the two sites, Klobenstein and Schwarzseespitze, in the ACTA region during the summer EOP of the TEAMx campaign (More info at https://www.teamx-programme.org/observations/). The data have been generated using the algorithm IMProToo . The routine is described in Maahn, M. and Kollias, P.: Improved Micro Rain Radar snow measurements using Doppler spectra post-processing, Atmos. Meas. Tech. Discuss., 5, 4771-4808, doi:10.5194/amtd-5-4771-2012, 2012. http://www.atmos-meas-tech-discuss.net/5/4771/2012/amtd-5-4771-2012.html The data were then post-processed to correct for interference issues caused by the presence of a cable car. In addition, uncertainties over the observed profiles were calculated using a Monte Carlo method. A description of the post-processing (interference correction and uncertainty calculation) applied is provided in an ESSD paper in preparation. Spatial location: The MRRs are located in Schwarzseespitze/Lagonero (2060 m, 46° 35′ 46″ N, 11° 27′ 11″ E) and Klobenstein/Collalbo (1193m, 46° 32' 7.55" N, 11° 27' 32.33" E). The file map_sites.png shows the position of the two profilers on the map. Temporal coverage and resolution: The observations are collected for the following periods: Schwarzseespitze/Lagonero: from 2025-06-26 to 2025-09-09 Klobenstein/Collalbo: from 2025-05-16 to 2025-09-09 The data have been produced in the original 1-minute temporal resolution, and also at 5-minute temporal resolution to facilitate matching with other radar sources. Data use policy. These data are made available in accordance with the TEAMx Data Management Plan and may be used provided that the dataset and its data providers are appropriately cited and acknowledged. Users are requested to contact the data providers ([e-mail]) when planning research based on the dataset and must inform them before disseminating results through journal articles, conference presentations, or research proposals. This communication should allow the data providers to indicate whether they wish to contribute to the proposed work.
