SRUP – Customs Facilities

Servitude and Restriction of Public Utility (SRUP) – Customs Facilities, in force in mainland Portugal. The establishment of public utility services and restrictions relating to Customs Facilities follows the regime provided for by law, being included in the scope of Equipment. Servitude is automatically constituted in the area of jurisdiction of Customs, i.e.: In ports, coves, rivers and anchorages; Within the sea area of respect, considered to be 6 miles; In a land area of 10 km from the coast; A land area of 40 km from the border, comprising the rivers bordering that area; On all terrain occupied by railway lines, including their stations and workshops, and in a 2 km band on each side of the same lines; At aerodromes and airports and within a 2 km band around them; In the free warehouses and free zones and in a strip of 2 km around them. Within the area of jurisdiction of Customs, no construction can be done without the authorisation of the public authority responsible for Customs. The geographical information provided through the respective web services, representing the location of Customs and Customs Delegations and Customs Control, was produced by DGT and other official entities, based on information legally deposited in the National Territorial Information System (SNIT) concerning the delimitation of the bondage of customs facilities.
