A de novo assembly of the Hylaeus volcanicus (Perkins, 1899) (Hymenoptera: Colletidae) genome to provide a foundational genomic tool to facilitate population genomic research on this endemic species across the Hawaiian Islands. DNA was derived from one single adult male sampled from Puu Oo Trail on Mauna Loa (Hilo moku) in Hawaii, extracted to generate high molecular weight DNA which was used for input for a 10x Genomics Chromium library, and sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq xTen. Resulting data was assembled using Supernova Software (10X Genomics).
