Field and pot soil samples wherein seedlac was buried were used in this study. The objective of the study is to identify the bacterial species in the soil samples where seedlac was buried, by sequencing of V3-V4 region of 16S rRNA gene and eventually to study the bacterial species which are involved in biodegradation of lac.
